NVQ Course Prospectus
Introduction
NVQ are the Nationally Recognised Qualifications that are
regulated by our industry sector body HABIA, after undergoing a
process of consultation with industry and the agreement through the
HABIA Beauty, Nail and Spa Forums. The qualifications are centred
around demonstrating skill competence within a real working
situation. NVQ's are available at Levels 1, 2 or 3 and they fulfil
the roles of assistant, junior and senior therapists respectively.
NVQ courses are only available at registered centres, which adhere
to approved inspection criteria.
All NVQ courses include the process of tuition, home study,
written assignments and assessment. As a quality control process
this evidence is internally monitored and finally externally
verified, which leads to certification.
All NVQ courses require the candidate to submit a portfolio of
evidence and to demonstrate a stated number of competent
performances covering a number of practical ranges. Candidates will
be provided with full guidance for the evidence requirements and
will be individually supported on each course. A full level can be
studied in one go, or individual modules as required until a level
is achieved.
